I have worked in the hospitality industry all my life, from waiting on tables to barista and on to running my own venues and finally owning my own coffee business.
I have seen first hand the volume of single use plastic waste created each and every day by the industry.
The impact of plastic waste is felt everywhere but no more so than here in my home county of Cornwall, with the UK’s longest coastline where our beaches suffer from a huge influx of waste plastics and it is only the tireless work of local community groups that our beaches remain incredible.
We rely on tourism and yet it is the increase in tourists that perpetuates the single use plastic waste problem.
I knew there had to be a solution out there, to eliminate the plastic from the cycle completely, that didn’t carry the usual much higher price tag that is the cost of being green here in the UK.
In a seemingly endless search I came across something brand new that was already having a huge positive impact in Australia and Canada – The Good Cup!
